Jury Duty
You are excused from jury duty as a resident.
Please present your summons to the registrar’s office and they will provide documentation on your behalf.
 
White Coat Disposal
There is no specific protocol for disposal of JHH white coats. However, while there is no policy, please remove your name and the JHH logo to prevent re-use.
 
House Staff Insurance Supplementary Fund
Effective the day of appointment to help limit the SHP out-of-pocket eligible medical expenses for house officers.
The FUND provides payment for SHP out-of-pocket medical coinsurance costs which exceed $1,000 per individual or $3,000 per family during the plan year up to the SHP maximum of $3,000 per person or $9,000 per family.
Copays for prescription drugs are not eligible for the FUND.
The plan year is July 1 – June 30 and all eligible claims must be submitted for reimbursement from the FUND no later than December 31st following the end of the plan year.

New Changes to Moonlighting Policy
Effective June 14, 2017.
For Residents currently working on clinical services, the limit is up to 600 hours per year.
For Residents currently engaged in research activities at least 90% of the time, the limit is up to 900 hours per year.
For Fellows the limit is up to 900 hours per year.
