History of the Johns Hopkins Children's Center Race Team

In 2007, Team Sadie began running in the Baltimore Running Festival to raise money in support of Johns Hopkins Children’s Center in memory of Sadie Elizabeth Abell. After raising nearly $1 million, Team Sadie officially passed the baton to Johns Hopkins Children’s Center to carry on the mission by creating a team for the 2017 Baltimore Running Festival. The inaugural Team Hopkins Kids raised more than $178,000 for 20 divisions and programs at the Children’s Center in 2017.

Baltimore Boogie 2018

Baltimore Boogie, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center's dance marathon, provides a unique opportunity to raise funds and awareness for sick and injured children in your local community while having fun. Members of our Teen and Children's Council are actively planning for our second annual event Saturday, November 10, 2018, from noon to 6 p.m.

What is Baltimore Boogie?

Baltimore Boogie is a yearlong fundraising effort involving community events that culminates in a six-hour “dance marathon” where participants stay on their feet through dancing, games and entertainment at the hospital in celebration of the amount raised that year. No dancing skills are required, but you have the opportunity to learn a custom line dance unique to each year’s event. Everything we do is for the kids!

How can I help?

Dance Independently

The Impact

In its inaugural event, Baltimore Boogie surpassed its $5,000 goal to raise over $19,000. Our dancers’ fundraising efforts had great impact on a variety of patient initiatives:
